The stage is set for a fascinating read from the very
“I have always wondered why it is there and what is inside
it and why is it never spoken about.”
“I’m Olivia Johnson and I am 11 years old. I live with my Mum and Dad. My Grandad doesn’t live far away but
unfortunately my Granny died when I was little.”
“Grandad has a box in the corner of his living room….Why?”
The author develops her characters into living breathing
people that will capture readers into Olivia’s quest to unearth the mystery of
the box. A well-done work of fiction,
this story reads as if a memoir, the believability of both the voice and the
story propelling readers to become involved.
Sophie Ellul is a young woman who holds great potential on
the literary road as she gains writing experience. Her own youthfulness made Olivia’s voice
especially real and compelling. While
execution of the story doesn't yet show full maturity of process, her maturity
in telling a story that reaches a fitting and strong conclusion is wonderful.
Readers will enjoy this story, and should remember the
author’s name, since this reviewer anticipates her name will be surfacing
repeatedly in the years ahead.
